We all knew the day would come that Ellen Degeneres' star studded Oscar selfie would no longer hold the record for most re-tweeted tweet of all time. However, I don't think anyone would have guessed it would have been by a teen from Nevada who just wanted some more chicken nuggets.
Ellen's selfie currently stands at 3.43M while Carter Wilkerson's Wendy's plea for a year of free nuggets is at 3.45!
Carter Wilkerson asked the fast-food chain how many re-tweets it would take to get a year's supply of the signature menu item and Wendy's responded with "18 Million."
While Carter might still be a ways away from 18 million, Wendy's has recognized the serious Twitter recondition Carter has brought in for them and gave him the "nuggs" anyways. AND they've also donated $100K to the Dave Thomas Foundation.
Ellen had Carter on her show in April. Ellen promised him a "big gift" if Carter actually hit the 18 million mark. No word yet if she'll cave like Wendy's and just give him the prize anyways.
Ellen has not yet responded to the announcement that Carter has officially passed her RT record.
