Researchers say if you have a craving for something sweet in the middle of the day there's something you can do so you don't end up raiding the vending machine.
The NY Post reports that while it may seem wacky it actually works.
Hereâs how it works: Start by picking up a raisin and observing its grooves and wrinkles. Give it a sniff and note your bodyâs physical state. (Is your mouth watering? Is your tummy rumbling?)
Place the raisin in your mouth and turn it around, exploring the fruitâs surface with your tongue.
Then slowly chew the raisin, observing its soft center and complexity of flavor. Swallow and remain still, imagining the fruit traveling down to your stomach.
Finally, ask yourself, âWhat does my body really need?â
âThe raisin exercise couples our awareness with our ability to exert control over our âautomaticâ reactions,â Korn told The Post. In other words, it quashes the impulse to scarf down barbecue potato chips next time youâre feeling stressed out.
